Brief introduction of the Radio and Television Department:

The Radio and Television Department of Rumi University was established in 2007 at the same time as the establishment of Rumi University within the framework of the Faculty of Journalism, and more than a decade has passed since its scientific and academic activity. The purpose of establishing this department is to train specialized and committed staff and personnel for the public and private sectors in the fields of developing freedom of expression, teaching and work.

The Radio and Television Department currently has eight permanent academic staff, two of whom have master’s and doctoral degrees. In addition, a large number of professors have at least a bachelor’s degree in each semester on a contract basis with this department. They teach.

The number of students in this department is currently close to 99, who are busy taking journalism courses from the first to the seventh semester.

Mission 

Department of Radio and Television Faculty of Journalism Rumi Private University’s mission is to learn a variety of topics over the course of eight semesters, with dramatic changes in the environment and around us as media executives, editors, graphic designers, reporters, reporters, reporters The presenters and presenters of radio and television programs have been trained as young professionals and experienced media activists to fulfill their responsibilities to their homeland and people.

The length of the journalism course in the radio and television department:

An academic course covers four years, which includes 8 semesters. Each semester is sixteen weeks. Students are required to complete at least 75% attendance to pass the final exam of the semester. If they cannot complete the required attendance percentage, they will be denied the exam.

Every academic staff member and student of the department should participate in the process of research and presentation of scientific seminars. In addition to teaching and research, the Radio and Television Department also provides courses and scientific programs for students. Students go on scientific trips in groups with their professors. Regular academic programs are prepared and implemented by the department. Students are sent to the media center to visit professional activities. Therefore, the Department of Radio and Television has signed memorandums of understanding with various media centers, such as Forough Radio and Television, Arzo Radio and Television; Balkh National Radio and Television Network, and so on.

Every student should write a thesis at the end of his study period and defend his research results in an official meeting. In the Department of Radio and Television, the teaching of the monograph begins in the seventh semester. selection of topics; research method; Sourceology; Designation of professor, guidance, etc., administrative procedures of monograph title registration are taught for students. When the students finish the 8th semester, they write their monograph under the supervision of the professor appointed by the department; complete and present their research results during an official meeting.

Evaluation is one of the ways through which the results of the education process can be measured, therefore, students are evaluated with different methods in the course of their studies. These methods include:
