Message from the Head of the Department of National Economy
The importance of learning economics as one of the branches of social sciences is rooted in the unlimited and increasing needs of humanity due to scarce resources. Strengthening the economic sectors in a country ensures growth and development and leads to well-being and improving the living standards of its people. Because economic growth and development requires the education and learning of economics, in many societies and countries, prestigious universities are engaged in in-depth research and study in the field of economics. The need for economics education in any society, both developed and developing, is palpable.
Especially in our country, Afghanistan is very important as a backward and developing country. Due to the importance and need of the Faculty of Economics, Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi University established the Department of National Economy in 2011 as a scientific center in the field of economic research to gather young and experienced staff in this field to train and Educate the young generation and those who are interested in economics.
Brief introduction of the Department of National Economy
The Department of National Economics of Rumi Private University was established in 2011 within the framework of the Faculty of Economics and its scientific and academic activities have been going on for 10 years. The purpose of establishing this department is to train specialized and committed staff and personnel for the public and private sectors in the fields of research, teaching and professional practical work. The Department of National Economics currently has four permanent academic staff, two with a master’s degree and two with a bachelor’s degree. The number of students in this department is currently close to 115, who are engaged in studying national economics in two shifts, night and day, from the first to the eighth semester.
The Department of National Economy has a Department of Parliament and six committees to further promote its activities under the title of Quality Improvement Committee and Curriculum Development and Examination Committee, Examination Committee, and Ilang Committee, whose members are the professors and staff of this department. Each committee also has an oversight member from among the student representatives.

The Department of National Economics within the Faculty of Economics is trying to become one of the most prestigious departments in the country in the near future by training specialized and entrepreneurial individuals, providing and developing educational and research services.
Mission
The Department of National Economy of the Faculty of Economics, in the light of the laws of the Ministry of Higher Education, is determined to provide appropriate and standard access areas for the youth of Afghanistan by providing teaching at the highest quality level in accordance with the needs of the labor market and increasing students’ analytical and research capabilities. To achieve their scientific and professional goals and also to solve the economic problems of the society to prepare for the economic growth and development of the country.
